# Steadphast FAQ: Questions we hear most.

## What does Steadphast do?

Steadphast is building the AI concierge for banks and merchants: the layer that recognizes, verifies, and serves the AI assistants customers send. Today, Agent Intelligence shows a business which agents reach its site, who operates them, how far each identity claim holds up, and what they do next. Agent Experience, in design-partner preview, gives recognized agents a native path to finish the customer’s task.

## What is the AI concierge?

It is the agent that receives customers’ AI assistants on behalf of a business. Bot tools give a business two choices: block the assistant or let it in. An assistant that gets in finds a site built for people, so the customer can’t be sure the task got done, and the business can’t see what the agent did. The concierge will recognize each assistant, check who is behind it, and give it a native path to search, book, move money, or buy within the business’s rules. Agent Intelligence and Agent Experience are its building blocks. The concierge itself is on our roadmap.

## What kinds of AI traffic does it recognize?

Five classes: AI training crawler, AI search crawler, AI user fetch, agentic browser, and programmatic agent. Each request is attributed to the operator behind it where the evidence supports that.

## What is available now, and what is in preview?

Available now, with Agent Intelligence: observe, classify, and connect agent activity to pages, journeys, and outcomes. In design-partner preview, with Agent Experience: curated native flows that let a recognized agent complete the customer’s task, with a traceable record of each interaction. Next: the AI concierge that brings both together.

## Does Steadphast block bots?

No. Steadphast takes a business beyond block or allow. Agent Intelligence observes and classifies. It does not challenge visitors or change what they receive. Giving recognized agents a native path belongs to Agent Experience, which is in design-partner preview.

## How does Steadphast check that an agent is who it claims to be?

A user-agent string is only a claim, so Steadphast checks it against evidence the operator controls: a cryptographic request signature where the connector forwards one, the operator’s own DNS records, or the address ranges the operator publishes. When the claim and the evidence disagree, the record shows the conflict.

## How does it connect to my site?

Through a connector at your edge or in your application, or from your logs: a Cloudflare Worker (pilot), the Next.js connector, or a Vercel log drain. Start in observe-only mode, prove the signal, then decide whether to add policy with Agent Experience, in design-partner preview. Ask us about other CDNs and hosts.

## What data does Steadphast collect?

Request metadata: source address, user agent, method, path and query string, timing, and request headers. Credential and payment headers are never stored, and you choose which other headers to leave out, such as cookies. No request or response bodies. Each customer’s events are scoped to that customer’s workspace and deleted after 90 days by default.

## Who builds Steadphast?

A team that previously built trust and risk infrastructure at ThreatMetrix, BioCatch, Callsign, Incognia, Sift, and Arkose. Core methods are patent-pending.

## Is there a public API, pricing page, or self-serve signup?

Not today. Access is arranged through https://steadphast.ai/contact, where you can request access or book a demo.
